Club PLATINUM Goes Monthly
Dance Party for Seniors (55+)
Club PLATINUM is going monthly with its Seniors Dance Party (55+) events – featuring the danceable hits of the late 40s through the early 70s – on the last Sunday of every month at 2:30 – 5:00 pm in the Lounge at the Centre for Social Innovation, 585 Dundas Street East, 3rd floor (Daniel’s Spectrum building).
Club PLATINUM is inspired by extensive research on dementia and aging which reveal that dancing, music, and socializing are critical to ongoing brain health and improving quality of life. The events are designed to increase community involvement and engagement for seniors all over Toronto.
The monthly dance party will also be augmented by completely inclusive dance classes to begin in the fall of 2020. Other special events include a possible patio party in summer!
So, come and dance with that special someone. Whether you are the jive bomber with the Jitterbug, get down with the Boogie-Woogie, dance holes in your shoes with the Twist, or just love that Funky Chicken, we have the event for you.
Club PLATINUM is an inclusive event welcoming dancing feet 55 years or older. Tickets are PWYC (pay-what-you-can: suggested $15). We encourage all levels of mobility, cognitive ability to attend. Caregivers attend free of charge. Entry includes soft drinks and light snacks. Beer and wine are available at cash bar.
